The honest comparison

StockPoint vs Connecteam

Both are real products with real strengths. Here's the fair version — Connecteam's facts come from its own public pricing and feature pages, checked September 11, 2026. Pricing changes; verify on their site before deciding.

🤝

When Connecteam is the right choice

  • Choose Connecteam if you manage a general frontline workforce — retail, hospitality, logistics — and mainly need scheduling, chat, checklists, and training across many industries. It's a polished, broad platform with a generous free tier for teams under 10, and its per-user pricing is fine at small headcounts.
🏆

When StockPoint is the right choice

  • Choose StockPoint if your workers clock in at client buildings and you also run payroll and bill those clients. Connecteam records time and exports it; StockPoint verifies the punch (GPS distance + selfie face check + PIN), computes real W-2 withholding from it, generates the client invoice from the same hours, and shows per-building profit — at a flat price that doesn't rise when you hire.

What you'd actually pay

  • Connecteam: Per 'hub', per user: Operations, Communications, and HR hubs are priced separately at $29–$119/month each covering the first 30 users, then $0.80–$4.20 per extra user per month depending on tier. Free plan for teams under 10.
  • StockPoint: Flat $149/month up to 20 locations or $199/month unlimited — unlimited workers, admins, and clients on both; annual billing saves two months ($1,490 / $1,990).
  • A 40-worker crew on one mid-tier Connecteam hub runs roughly $49–$119 plus extra-user fees — and each additional hub multiplies that. StockPoint is $149 flat with payroll, invoicing, and P&L already inside.

Switching from Connecteam — three steps

  • 1. Export your people and timesheet history from Connecteam (CSV) — workers, sites, and hours.
  • 2. Import them into StockPoint's CSV importers (workers, buildings, clients, historical time entries — overlaps land in an approval queue, so nothing double-counts).
  • 3. Print kiosk QR codes for your buildings, have workers punch with their new PIN the same week, and run your first payroll preview from real verified hours.

Switcher questions

Does Connecteam run payroll?

No — Connecteam produces timesheets and integrates with payroll providers like Gusto or QuickBooks Payroll, which you pay for separately. StockPoint computes W-2 withholding in-house from the same verified punches and writes net-pay checks into QuickBooks Online. (StockPoint is not a payroll bureau: you or your accountant still remit and file.)

Connecteam has a free plan — why pay for StockPoint?

If you have under 10 workers and only need scheduling and chat, Connecteam's free tier is genuinely good. StockPoint earns its $149 when the punch has to become a paycheck, a client invoice, and a P&L line — the work you're currently doing by hand in spreadsheets.

Can Connecteam verify who actually punched in?

Connecteam's kiosk uses a 4-digit PIN and can optionally store a selfie photo; its public pages don't describe automatic face matching. StockPoint face-checks every kiosk selfie against the worker's profile automatically and flags mismatches immediately.

We already use Connecteam for chat and checklists — can we run both?

Yes. Some companies keep Connecteam for communication and run time, payroll, invoicing, and the client portal on StockPoint. Since StockPoint is flat-priced, adding it doesn't multiply per-user costs.

How long does switching take?

Most companies are punching at their first kiosk the same afternoon and complete the history import (workers, buildings, invoices, past hours) within days. Your P&L history comes with you.
